The Shijiazhuang customs have calculated that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region reported a foreign trade volume of 2.46 trillion yuan ($344.4 billion) from January to June this year. This is a 4.6 percent increase, which is 2.5 percentage points higher than the national exports and imports growth during the same period.
In the first six months of this year, the region also saw foreign trade increases of 3.1 percent, 1.5 percent, 13.5 percent, and 34.6 percent, respectively, with the European Union, the United States, Australia, and Brazil.
About 51.1 percent of the export volume of the region was contributed by mechanical and electrical products featuring automobiles and petroleum products.
In addition, the imports of high-tech and agricultural products gain momentum.
